04 cluster and dash led
Hi really hoping for someone to tell me if they have successfully changed the dash/air-con and speed dial cluster bulbs from the horrible dull green. Really want to go for a bright red led look.
Iv searched and only seem to find 03 and i read somewhere that 04 is different.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ahh same as me then, although I am planning to upgrade the centre console to the later shape version soon.
Anyway yes it can be done, you have 2 options....
1 just replace the lights that are already in there with LED ones. This might not be the best "job" in the world though as the coverage from the LEDs aren't that great.
2. Do what I did just now better option for coverage but do lose the "RED 30" mark on the heater dials slightly.
Was bored and had an hour spare so thought id see what I could do with the dull green heater colour.
Tried making my own LED's using the existing holder rather then wait a week for some to be delivered (these are tiny)
Old filament ones removed from holder
My "homemade" one
This didnt give great results due to the angle the LEDs emit light and Maybe they were too far forward in the holder causing not enough spread of light. Either way I couldn't be arsed to go and get some smaller resistors from work so made use of some LED strips I had lying around instead.
Stuck a block of 3 where each normal filament bulb would go and wired them up.
Tested in car
And another just now in the relatively pitch blackness outside due to a mahoosive thunderstorm
This is what I mean about the RED on the heater control itself. It looks mainly Blue here in the picture but its more purple in real life. Still a small price to pay for getting rid of the lame green.
Another thing is the Light on the centre dial for FAN control is ever so slightly duller then the others (the indication light at the top of the dial itself). This is due to them using slight thicker plastic mouldings for that switch. I may well change that to White eventually but I wanted to play with Blue tonight.
Plan to change all the dull crappy green lights overtime.
