Default Sti Instrument Cluster

Hi everyone i have a bug wrx and have put various STi parts on, last night i decided to fit an STi cluster, i was told the sti cluster came off a V7 so should be a straight swap.

So i removed my old one and put the new one in, and everything was A-OK no lights on the dash, all gauges working, it lights up correctly etc.

Although when taking the car out last night i noticed that the speedo isnt showing the right speed, like i was doing approx 40mph and the speedo was showing around 60.....

Any ideas anyone? I think i am going to just have to swap back because i cant live with not knowing the right speed im doing lol

Thanks

Maybe the clocks you put in are from a Import and your car is a UK? I'm guessing but maybe there is a difference there?

If they're JDM gauges they'll read in kmph not mph

Hmmm sound possible as the amount it's out looks like the difference between mph and kmph,

Although on the sti cluster in the speedo dial it has the mph logo so I'm confused

I've got some JDM ones and the MPH is quite obviously a sticker - green backlit is definately the older bug ones as all of the blob are white backlit iirc so should be a straight fit

Do the STi dials have a blue background?

They have a black background, are green backlit, everything works apart from the speedo not showing correct speed

Really was hoping to have these but dont think im gonna be able to work a way round it lol.

Thanks for all the replies so far.

I think you may have a JDM WRX speedo set, that is what I have unless some if the early STIs had black dials
