Number Plate / Rear Lights Problem
Hey folks,
On the hunt for some advice / help please?
I have a 98 uk2000 wagon, and when i press the brake pedal, the rear tail lights go out, and so does the number plate lights..
Im assuming this is an earthing related issue, but the wagon has a wiring adaptor / harness plugged into the left rear light, which connects to the tow bar wiring, and i cannot find a wiring diagram anywhere..
Can anyone help me by providing a wiring diagram, or even tell me the earth / grounding locations and cable colours?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Does sound like an earth problem.
You're sure the wiring adaptor is plugged in behind the LEFT rear light? Mine is a 98 UK saloon and plugged in behind the RIGHT hand one.
Can you unplug it and see what happens?

Yip, its deffinately the left hand light, and there is a small black box which is also wired in. This adapter does not plug in to the rear light unit at all, its rather weird..
The number plate lights are pink / white in colour, and black - i assume the black one would be the earth?
Does anyone know where these rear lights usually earth at?
The right hand light is fine, and no loose cables.
Thanks
