Default ecu can i.....?

basically i want a ecu for my 2.5 NA impreza sport v4 so a 3 plug ecu that is mappable to be able to map the car on a rr.

Now can i use a mappable ecu (that fits the 3 plug type connections, i.e a v4 ecu) such as apexi fc, simtek, etc and make a map for the engine on the rolling road? being as the car is not a turbo its a NA 2.5?

thank you in advance
