Hi, both my headlights flicker bright then dull when put onto main beam, the flicker happens approx every 20secs or so, but only when on main beam so don't suspect bulbs (which are knew 6 weeks ago - blue effect)has anybody had this, if so how did you solve it ?

Thank for any help in advance.
cheers

Thumbs up

I'd guess a loose connection on the main beam switch or relay.

Usually the plug that goes on the back of the bulbs. If you had to force the plug off when you removed the original bulbs you probably bent the brass inserts and they are not making full contact.

Get a very small flat-bladed screwdriver and use it to bend the brass inserts to close up the gap (put the blade behind the outer of the inserts and twist slightly). Do it with great care so as not to break the housing. I had this with my MY00 and it took a while to track down the problem.

If you had to force the wiring plug to get it off the bulb, that's because there are two safety tags inside the rubber cover that you have to squeeze in before you can get the plug off - it will then come off easily.
