Default Bugeye Key cutting / transponder

Hi

Got a UK bug eye which has the key buttons disabled and a separate Sigma alarm fob (believe this was the case for the first bugeyes as they had to get a cat 1 system fitted.

I need to get another key cut - do I need a transponder too given that it looks like I don't have one at the moment? Key is working with just the metal bit

You should have a transponder in they key, maybe JDM's don't but UK's definitley do.
Do you have a turbo timer or remote start? Sometimes people take the chip out, and tape it near the dash to override the immobiliser, for those.

Transponder is within the key, you will need a new key and transponder and then you need to have the new transponder coded.

The new key will then do everything, you can also then pick up a sigma fob and program that yourself. I've seen manuals for that kickin about online

The key just looks like it's all metal to me? There is nothing there apart from that?! Or am I being stupid?!

I don't think somebody has taken the transponder out and put it within the car.

Where's the best place to get a key cut and get a blank transponder then?

thanks guys
