Default Speakers

Hi
i bet you all have had this before, but i have looked all over google and can not find anything, i have a 2004 subaru impreza sport with a sony single din head unit and wanted to change the speakers so i got 13cm alpines for the front and 10cm for the back.
I got these as they are meant to fit the car as on ebay it says 2004 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3503998470...ht_2142wt_1413
but these are the wrong size so can i just pack the speakers out bait so they do not hit the window when its down or is there an item i need to buy? thanks

What I have done is used the factory speakers and made a mount out of MDF. You can then cut it out to whatever speaker size you have and you can go as large as 17cm on the front doors.

With the mount you've got, what doesn't fit. Have you tried removing the speakers from the factory mount as OE speakers are 13cm iirc and you could then use that instead.

Corsa (93 model) adaptors from Halfords can be modified pretty easily to allow you to fit 17s (just watch the mounting depth as there's not much available)
