Default rear wiper

anyone know if you can retrofit a jap spec rear wiper to a uk spec blobeye.

i know i need the rear wiper mechanism, window and wiper stalk.
but is the wiring already there.

i have looked under the parcel shelf and there is a plug there (pic) could a jap spec owner have a look and see if this is plugged into the wiper please.

Typical: when I did that conversion on my 98 UK car, I had to put the wiiring in FROM SCRATCH!

The bloody japs had even saved money on the copper wires

Don't forget you need the rear screen as well, then would have to change the rear door glass to match. All stalks must be different as on mine the indicators are on the right would be good if you pull it off ideal way would be to find a jdm breaking and get all the parts in one go saves trying to locate the bits separate. Been a few bug jdms broke recently and presume bits off that would fit ok.

im just seeing if it is easy to do in terms of wiring, if it is simply plug and play i might attempt it as i can source the parts i need from a jdm blob i know is being broken.
i know i need window, wiper mechanism and stalks.
now i know where the wiring plug is in the boot i will check it out tommorow to see if its there.

Have a look to see how much work is required to fit stalks as rest should be easy wiring, anything is possible depends how much time you can spend on it. Good luck hope it works out as its one of the best features on my jdm and something I really missed on my old uk car having never had a car without one before

Why go to all the trouble Tommy. I had rear wiper, never got used and eventually removed it because of the notorious leakage problem.

The plug in your photo is for a third brake light.

More accurately the importers had down spec'd the car so much, that to save money the deleted such luxuries.

Put mine in.
The REAR SCREEN leaked due to poor glueing.

Since that was cured, no leaks whatsoever

Been on four years now...........

the reason i want it is i when i start my car in the morning it is very difficult to see when reversing if its rainy/icy.
i can source all the parts easily and if its a simple plug and play job to fit i would do it, if the looms is not there i wont bother, this is what im trying to find out, with due respect im not after peoples opinions if its a waste of time or not.

I can tell you about mine:
I bought the full "kit" from Grade A for £250. That included screen, wiper and linkages, pump, reservoir, pipework plus a new stalk with the rear wiper switch, I think it came out of a wagon.

Fitting the stalk was a 30 minute job, all wiring matched up.

From then on it was DIY, but only from the fusebox. I had to identify and tap into tyhe fused side of fuse number 15, then run wires from battery to a relay and one from that fuse that switched it.

Took half a day, but was only about three Haynes spanners.

Wouldn't be without it now.

I've since put folding mirrors on, they were the same clat to do, but just time consuming.

thanks alcazar i think i asked you for advice when i fitted folding mirrors on mine, as long as the stalks match up i.e. plug n play and the multiplug is in the boot for the mechanism the rest is not to hard.
im pretty handy with spanners but i want it o.e. looking so need it to work correct from steering column controls.
