looking at the pic this one brown wire with a red bullet connector on runs to

this bit but as you can see the purple has been cut and they end up joining up with the handbrake switch, what is the purple wire and brown wire for

usually electricals connected to handbrakes are related to dvd screens/ dvd headunits as legally they cannot be used whilst the vehicle is in motion.
