Default my00 original central locking fob not working?

Hello this is my first technical post on here

I have purchased a very nice green sport today and the orignal fob doesnt work and from other cars in the past ive owned soldering can sometimes help I wonder if its the case for Subaru fobs, the battery is new aswel and the light on the front doesnt come up.

You can pick them up fairly cheap (10-15 quids), as it wont be easy to solder, but whatver happens you'll need to re-program to the alarm anyway. If you dont have another working fob, or know the PIN for the keypad in the glovebox, then its not going to be cheap. If you do, re-coding is free.

Nice car BTW, nice number plate too.

just to update the fob has a very faint red light hardly noticable but the battery tests all good so may try a new branded battery.

Ive tried looking on ebay for a fob and I have no alarm code in my details

If you dont have an alarm code, there is no point looking for a new fob on ebay.
Its a subaru only job now, or new alarm.

sorted i put a thicker 2032 battery in instead of the 2025 standard

Now you have a working fob, change your PIN, it will save you from some potential problems:
