Which Driving Lamps
#1
I am after some advice on driving lamps to fit my UK300. I have scanned the Subaru accessory catalog to find they ofer a "Prodrive Halogen Driing lamp kit" part number SACC2542. I think these may be the Hella units but not the gas discharge version. I wonder why the PIAA's dont appear as any accessory even though the dealers offer them as an option. Has any one tried these units?, what's the quality of the fitting bracker like?, how do these compare against the PIAA's. Which ever unit I decide on I would like these wired through the front fog switch.
Thanks

Having used them, I would recommend the PIAA kit (from Graham Goode).
I wouldn't recommend any kit that uses a H2 bulb (predominately Cibie) as the H2 bulb/holder is a fundamentally flawed design and I have replaced hundreds of H2's over the years. The PIAA's use H3 which is a much better design.

I have just mounted two Hella Rally 1000FF pencil beam with 100W
they are great, but you need to make your own mounting kit and wiring. Hella order no is 1F5008273021. Total price for two with 100W was 90 pound. Diameter is 176mm so they fill out the hole in the bumper.

I've got PIAAs fitted to a my98. They are pencil beams with 100watts of retina burning power and are great!!
Definately a must for fast night driving.
The only snag is switching them off and going to dip beam as it goes from daylight to the glow of two small candles with a flick of a switch which can raise the heart beat when driving quickly.
PIAAs are expensive but I think they are worth it.
