I, too, have a very similar problem on my 04 Legacy. Sometimes the key fob works, sometimes it doesn't! I can leave it for 10 mins, try again and hey presto, it works! Not much fun when you are 140 miles from home and you can't get into your car . Any ideas would be appreciated.

if it is the sigma system the keyfob is single button with subaru emble, on it, have it ripped out thrown in the bin and a better quality alarm fitted, i see this a lot not slating sigma at all but there are better alarms out there and more reliable by far.............all i can say is check the fuse feeds by the steering colum if all ok could just be the fact the alarm is failing

Thanks P600wrx, appreciate the reply. I'll check out the fuse feeds when I get home. Plan on keeping the car for a few more years yet, so an investment in a new alarm system could be the best bet.

Cheers,

Ade.

Many are eight years old, how many of us have an eight year old TV still ?

Sadly all electronic devices are more likely to fail with age.

A mobile vehicle electrician is your best bet.
