Question TOWBAR WIRING?

HI ALL

fitted a witter detach towbar recently tho now need the electrics working...

the 7 pin plug i have has the connector choppped off

does anyone have a wiring diagram for wiring the tow bar single pug without using the oe connector... ie wire colours so i can splice in?

yes googled it no joy....

its a newage (bugeye)........ nice one motocare!
just a single electrics 7 pin plug, the oem connetor is in the o/s/r quarter panel but the kit i have as had the plug cut off so just want to bridge into the original loom.....

I did my forester towbar wiring - might be the same?

Car R79 pin - Towbar pin/wire
1=side light - 5=brown (right)
2=side light - 7=black (left)
3=brakes - 6=red
4=left ind - 1=yellow
5=right ind - 4=green
6=fog light - 2=blue
7=earth - 3=white

Sorry james, had a hectic day, we also do the convertors that go from 7 pin to the new style 13 pin thats fitted to all new caravans and trailers if thats any help.

Sorry forgot to ask, what year car is it going on as some have multiplex wiring and need a relay..??

2001 wrx, ive cut the plug off and joined the wires in place, just a 7 pin for a trailer board, all lights seem to work ok, not got any fuses in line tho....

Now a days, I always fit a Trailer wiring relay set. same one they use for the multiplex system. The darn wiring nowadays is just so fine ya can't do anything with it.

Plus using the relay set, you get the legally required indicator buzzer. I have wired my relay to a switch. the reason is, You can plug your trailer up to the plug and arm the relay goes through the trailer lights for you and beeps twice when finished.

I also highly recommend the 13 pin euro plug, far superior design to the old 7 pin design.
