You need to disarm the auto lock by entering the correct code on the alarm's keypad. You got your manual?

a mean as in your sitting in the car with the engine off and after 60 seconds the doors lock and alarm becomes active and goes off as it senses movement, a tryed the following a found on here .
(With regard to the Auto Arm with locking feature, this can be turned on in the following way
- Arm/disarm the alarm system.
- Enter the following sequence into the keypad *17856*04*1#

(Again to turn the feature off, substitute the final 1 for a 0)

a dont just mean it locks the doors a mean as in if you forgot to lock your car and walked away in now locks itself and puts the alarm on all because a removed the clocks and refitted them seems to have triggered it

Ok, it looks like you've got the right code. Only thing I can suggest is that you check the timing in which you enter the codes as it seems it will only work if done correctly, ie arm then disarm using the fob, then within 30 secs enter the programming pin code (checking for the led to flash after each button press) followed by the rest of the code as you detailed above.
