Default Help! Alarm problems 2001 WRX

My 2001 WRX Wagon has standard alarm and in last few days it has started going off for no reason.
When it does I can start car and indicators do not flash so i think it maybe some sort of battery back up problem in siren. Where is siren located (can't see it engine bay like my old classic) Can i over ride it? How can I fix it? Need help before neighbours torch it.
thanks

mine had the same problem, even if i got going without it going off it would start blazing away 5min later while i was driving. I took in to the auto elecs they changed the sigma control box and the back up siren seems to have done the trick.

sigma control unit part no: sacc3465
backup siren part no: sigsn300

the alarm will need re-coding

Thanks guys - found siren and it looks in good nick - dry as a bone where its mounted but I didn't split it apart so it could be full of rusty bad connections as I'm sure it will have picked up some moisture over the years.
When I was holding siren, you could just make out a really quite little electrical groaning or buzz coming from it so there must be still power going to it.
Alarm is now totally dead -can't make it go off. However, imobaliser and central locking seems fine.
Will try Auto Electrician over the weekend.

I recently swapped my siren as it had died, cost around £60 IIRC.
