Default power windows

Hi,

I have pick up a problem with my classic 96 plate windows, The only window that operates is the drivers window, when i switch the child lock button off, to allow other windows to work the the drivers window works somtimes. I have put a test meter on each window and power comes and goes every five seconds, I put a seperate 12v supply to each window motor and all the windows work... The child lock stays on and the drivers side work fine.

Any help would be great

worth a try,
most older cars suffer from it when they have the window open in the rain,
causes the contacts to corrode

That does sound like a relay..........you could remove it and replace with another, see if it cures the problem.

Once it's out, a decent car shop will match it, auto electrics place even more likely, or Vehicle Wiring Products Ltd. Suppliers of auto electrical parts.

Try that first, if it doesn't work, get back to us and we'll advise further.

Oh, and please try to post in decent English.........it doesn't bother me, but there are those on here who WILL NOT respond to text type posts

Where is the the power window relay. Is it under the drivers seat and do they each have a fuse and realy?

I have cleaned all contacts and I still have a problem with my windows. Has anyone come across this before?

Only the drivers window opens, when I turn off the child lock the power and revs dipp. The drivers window only works every 5 seconds.

I have connected a seperate 12v supply direct to the power window motors and they all work fine.

Any help would be great.
