Default Automatic Electric Folding Mirrors?

I have an MY98 WRX with Electric folding mirrors and want to know if anyone has made them fold automatically?

I would like mine to auto fold when the ignition if switched off and then return to the normal driving position when the ignition is switched back on.

I'm thinking that a 555 timer circuit would do the job for the power supply.

Can anyone see any problems?

Im pretty sure you can run these off the sigma alarm. It has a couple of outputs that you can use when locking/unlocking. WOuld need to dig out the manual for you tho

I can probably have a timer circuit that allows a relay to provide a connection across the close switch. Is it ok to have these switches permanently connected/switched? The mirrors seem to stop themselves so I am assuming there is control box under the dash?

it can be done. all you need is a timer module and a couple of relays.
