Default dvd headunit. viewing whilst driving

ok got my headunit off ebay, was actually quite surprised at the quality. anyway fitted it and to my surprise/delight i was able to view the dvd whilst driving however as it got dark tonight i put my lights on and the screen went blank n told me to stop to watch video.
i want to be able to watch it both during the day and with my lights on at night. could anyone help me out or had this problem?
i really think it strange it cuts out when the headlghts/sidelights go on.

i know it is illegal to view these on the move, however so is speeding etc. and by viewing i dnt mean my eyes glued to it as i did not buy it for watching dvds but listening to music videos.

any ideas or proven solutions welcome as the nights draw in lights will be on more regularly

cheers in advance

Disconnect the wire to the lighting circuit so it doesn't know it's dark and you are sorted.

Agree with Scooblube tho', you are asking for the police to show an interest as it is illegal to have the screen on whilst you are driving, and in your line of sight, sat-nav is different tho'.

Good luck !

whats the point in ppl posting replys like that????? ***** me off.

i had a dvd headunit with another screen fitted at the rear window so when at a cruise my boot install looked sweet. i drove with mine on alot and never once got pulled for it.

i'm just a show off and think its funny seeing ppls reactions when they see a fiesta with a tv.

everyone to their own.
