Red face

Having run these filaments for 6 months or so, it's finally happened.....

Fortunately, it decided to burn out on the connector and not in the middle of the loom. Back to the 60/55W and extra carrots, me thinks.

Cheers

Kav, sorry to hear that, mate. I can't see the pictures but presumably they're of the burnt-out connectors.

What car is it? Are they 80/100 and not higher? What sort of driving do you do with lights on? Stuck in trafic or summat? Would appreciate some more info, thanks.

Just checked mine. UK00 with 80/100 Halfords bulbs. Been in over a year now and the connector unclips like new Well pleased so far.

Richard.

I've not had any trouble with my 100/80 bulbs. I have just changed the first set after 18 months of use. Both bulbs blew within a week of each other. No problems with the connectors.

Question

Hi Richard

Sorry about the pics - service provision is intermittent.

I had run these filaments for 6 months with no problem. Most of my motoring is on the motorway with a short blast on B roads back home so they don't get a lot of use on high beam. I'm at a loss to explain what's gone wrong. I can tell you they're not Halfords though - I got these at a local motor factors.

I'm not going to put another set in for peace of mind. I managed to sort this out myself for a few quid. What price a rewire under the bonnet?

Cheers
Kav
