Cool re map

ive got a 02 wrx with a induction kit and turbo back exhaust no cats and ive bin told to get it remaped but if im not tracking the car is it worth the money.

ive heard it will make my car more fuel Efficient ??

and ive also bin told to do the manifold and up pipe and take that cat out be for the remap?????

cheers

definatly worth remapping mate, now you have got rid of the cats you will more than likley get your car over boosting also your fueling wont be right either..ide say it will be running rich now. ive decatted mine too but ive booked it in for a remap next week. as for the uppipe it is reccomended to chane it to a decat also due to the possability of it breaking up under boost after the remap and going into your turbo.

a remap will sort out any fueling issues aswell as giving you the full benifit of your decat exhaust..in otherwords at least another 30+ bhp

hope this helps

You can do the manifold and up pipe before mapping, personally I would just do the up pipe, for now. Yes a remap is a good idea at this stage. As you have removed the cats you run the risk of over boosting. When you have the remap done it will transform the car and bring all your modifications together and it will then run safely. Fuel efficiency is not a priority, however, mine does seem slightly better after my remap.

Your car is running faster ala' de-catted and the ECU hasn't been updated so to speak to run what it is, it needs tweaking to make it more efficient IMHO. Its always safer I reckon.

I ran mine for 18 months will a CEL, but did get confirmation it was just "cat missing", wished I'd got it done sooner as it improved fuel consumption and gained about 60 bhp.
