Default KEY problems

was out in the car last weekend and the key failed.

Couldn't lock the car. . . nothing.

Managed to disable the imobiliser by turning the key and pressing the button on the fob but after getting the car home this no longer worked and i put the fault down to a flat battery.

I changed the battery and it still doesn't work so i look to you guys for help!

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my key and what to do about it?

Cheers

Sounds like the alarm fob has unassocaited itself from the alarm after the failed battery.
Do you have a keypad for the alarm? On classics they are in the glovebox, but I think they are somewhere else on Bugeyes.
IF you do, and you know the pin, you are in luck. If not, dont worry yet, I'm sure there is more info.

Do you think i should give it a go at trying to re-associate the key fob with the cars system??

I may ask Mr Subaru to give this a go as i don't mant to go and screw it up.

any other thoughts on this peeps??

Try it yourself its easy. Easier then a trip to Subaru's.. There are plenty of links rgarding this. Search for post by a user "Sigma Sam" or "OE Alarm Sam". Same guy, knows his stuff but doesn't come on here anymore.
