Default Turbo Timer

Just out of interest really, this is my first time i've had a car with a Turbo and i now your supposed to let them idle for a bit before turning my engine off, but i keep forgetting
Has anyone got a Turbo timer fitted ? is it worth it ? and if so is it a job i could carry out myself ?

Hi m8,
nice car. I have'nt got a timer on mine either. Read somewhere that as long as you drive normally for last couple of mins before you get to where your going, it would have cooled down.

Last couple of mins, hmmm I do the last couple of miles below 3K and still let mine idle for about 2 Min's. I usually wait for the fan to cut in and leave it a few seconds after it stops then switch off. Probably over cautious but I've had my classic for 7yrs now and had no problems with it in that time. Inside the door it does state 'allow the car to idle for 1 min after highway driving' I believe this was aimed at motorway use and, because of the fuel consumption, regular stops to fill up. I guess they didn't want a 70-80mph blat and then turn straight off!
