I assume this is on a Scoob?
The BEST place for Defi senders is as follows:
Oil Pressure: REPLACE the stock o/p switch, which is situated just behind the alternator. Chuck the o/p switch in a drawer somewhere for refitting later if you sell the Defis.
Oil Temperature: In the blanked off tapping on top of Cylinder No3, which is the rear one, driver's side.
To fit it in there, you need an adaptor, available from Defi dealers, mine came from Scoobymania, about £8.
In that spot, the temperature is nearer to what the oil sees in the engine, rather than the sump, so more accurate. Mine reads 70 degrees C there, in normal driving, with peaks of 110. ("Spirited" drive up a French mountain pass).
You can just see the blanking plug on top of the block down behind the turbo and in front of the i/c, it's got an 8mm Allen socket in it, and is bright metal, about 25mm across. To remove it you'll need a long 8mm Allen key. Intercooler off makes it easier, unless you have triple jointed hands the size of a 5-year old's
