Default Broken Sigma Alarm Status LED - DIY Fix possible?

I just got this advice when I posted on the Forester Forum:

"the guy to ask is sigma sam ( might be 'oem alarm sam' now ) on scoobynet. Steve"

So here's my original post:

During the install for of my Omori Boost guage, I managed to snap off the status indicator light for my Sigma alarm which sits in the instrument shroud:

It's the one just to the left of the parking light switch & below the speedo/water temp dials.
This is a double PITA as I eventually found I did not have to remove the shroud at all.
Questions are:

1. Is that just a clear cover or the LED itself? It's clear in the photo but green or red or amber in use.

2. What type of LED & holder & cable connector do I need to fix it?

3. How is the bulb/holder fitted/removed.

I am hoping I can fit a replacement with the room I get just moving the shroud forward - otherwise I will have to remove & refit the Boost guage!

Looks like a 5mm 3-colour LED, and holder. Can't tell size though, it COULD be 8mm, or even 3mm, that's for you to measure. It's just diameter of LED across the cylinder part

Look here:

Rapid Electronics - Tri-colour 5mm LED

LED holders also available, they just push out from the back.

Rapid Electronics - 5mm Bezel panel clips

Assume you can solder? If the leads are the same as the old, just orientate from the LED flat, remove old, resolder new. Diode pushes into holder from rear, holder into hole from front.
