![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Can anybody help? Is it possible to easily rewire the ciggy lighter to be live all the time in MY06 WRX? It is so annoying if I want to leave something on charge, like my mobile or satnav, and have to leave the car, I wouldn't do it if its likely to be broken in to, but at work or in the garage would be ok.

Depends how easy is easy for you. I've done it but I'm fairly handy with a soldering iron. There's a permanent live in the hazard light switch wiring which is fairly close, there's going to be one in the radio wiring too.
For a MY04 car: Take the centre console out, take the radio out, find the ciggy lighter wiring, cut the 12V ignition live side, tape the live end on the car loom end and tape back safely, find the hazard light wiring, unplug from back of hazard switch, find 12V unswitched (yellow and silver rings a bell, was 2 years ago mind), strip some insulation off it, solder another wire on, tape joint, join new wire to feed to ciggy lighter, tape joint.
