Has your car been SVA tested? Or is this part of what you think you need to do to get it SVA tested?

It sounds like to pass an SVA it had a new dial to replace the original JDM speedo dial. As Japanese cars were legally governed to 170 kmh top speed, (about 112mph) this would explain why full scale on your current speedo would only be about 110mph.

Unfortunately just replacing the clock with a UK spec one is not going to give you correct speed readings because full scale deflection on a UK clock is going to be more like 150mph. Therefore you also need to have a speed convertor for the speedo cable too. So you need both a clock and a mechanical speedo convertor.

Just check the breakers yards for clocks and do a search for speedo convertors, there's a number f suppliers out there.
