i had a blackjax fitted at the end of last year, and for the last couple of weeks it has been getting steadily worse at accepting the code.
when you put the code in a little red light flashes to say that the code is accepted, however this is not working now, so i cant tell if the whole unit has packed up, or if it's the light or whether the car has even recognised the code.
has anyone got any help or advice regards this, cos this car is really satrting to p1ss me off, all i want is the damn thing to work properly for more than a week.
if it helps the alarm and immobiliser work fine, and other than on a couple of occasions the car starts with no problems.

It's very common for the Blackjax keypad to fail after about 1yr usage. Any Clifford installer can supply you with a new one for about a tenner, and anyone can install it. Just pull the old one off its sticky pad and ease the wire out until you expose the connector, clip old off, clip new on and locate with new sticky pad. If the LED is troublesome just pop another of those on too. Shouldn't be more than a couple of quid for that.
I wouldn't have thought it would affect start-up as it only interferes with the ignition system once activated after the correct prompts and time delay. I'd recommend sorting the BJ out and then keeping an eye on the starting issue. Maybe mention it at your next service. Does it do it when the engine is warm/hot, or perhaps if left parked on a slope for a while ? Try an identify as many potential causes as possible and then put a post in General Technical.

the blackjax is working, it is just the light i think, however, the car is warm or hot when i have had the starting problems, i believe this could be the crank sensor although i'm not 100% sure. i'm gonna have the blackjax taken out altogether and then go from there.
