Anyone know how to get this out? I need to get at the bulb inside to replace it, so tips on that would be helpful also. I believe the 12V 'grain of wheat' bulbs from model shops will do the trick?

Don't try prying it out with a blunt instrument as you'll scuff the switch frame and surrounding facia. Try and push it out from behind, if necessary removing the facia it's housed in (scoob interiors come apart very easily). You may find that the bulb is a small wedge base style, like dash illumination bulbs, and will be available from motorist stores or at least, a Subaru dealer.
