Depends on your budget.
Having just done HID upgrade, I'd suggest to anyone to go that route, but is circa £200
As for standard halogen bulbs, you'll probably have to go illegal (ie outside of 55watt rule) to get anything that will blow you away.

I am all up for anything that improves the sheer delight of thrashing a scooby on the best roads avaliable. BUT when people up-grade the headlight bulbs either going outside the 55/60W headlight boundaries for road use or fitting Xenon bulbs, etc, that give greater illumination for the same power rating. No concern is given to the driver heading towards them, daily I drive towards Corsa's, Fiesta's and Pug's with these bulbs fitted. They may be able to see in front of them better BUT this causes a reduction in the visibility that another road user coming towards them has. Result could be a increase in accidents due to being blinded by oncoming lights. As i say I love blasting my scooby round roads day & night. If your lights aren't good enough add extra driving or long range lights that are connected to full beam so when in close proximity to other drivers, theyt are not temporarily blinded.
As anyone else found this to be the same. Steve
