H4 Philips Power 2 Night GT-150...

I ordered some GE megalight plus yesterday but i just read a review that says they don't give the HID appearance, some of you might say "so what?" well i don't want some headlights that look like a pair of yellow globules.

I've got the GE Megalights. They AREN'T blue-ish, like HID, but unlike blue-ish halogen bulbs, the do put out more light than a standard halogen.

If you want bling, buy blue-ish bulbs
If you want to see, get some Megalights, PVP etc, or do it properly and get proper HIDs.

Thanks Alcazar,

So the GE megalights do actually put out more light? I know they claim + 60%... but then they all claim some amazing increased light output. To date, I've yet to see this personally on the types of bulb i have tried. The car came with PIAA fitted, they looked like HID, so much so in fact i thought they were. One of the bulbs popped, I wasn't going to pay £65 for a pair of headlight bulbs, so tried the philips blue vision. Not bad but not brilliant either, in terms of light output I mean.

Don't know if I dare admit to this but I then bought some halfords wannabe blue thingies. The colour is nice, crisp white but I might as well have 2 candles in the headlight units. They are, for sure, utterly CRAP!!

The GE's arrived at home today, I'll give them a go tonight. If they produce so much extra light I'll leave them, if they don't. Out they come and I'll try the GT 150's

Put the bulbs in last night (GE's)... not sure at the moment what I think of them. They certainly aren't white It does appear there is more light from them than the halfords wannabe thingies though.

Will try them out some more before I decide what to do.

Mine are in Morettes, so I can do a side by side comparison on main beam with the inner, main beam, standard halogen.

The GE's are definitely whiter/brighter than the standard 55W bulbs, but I agree, it's not a blue-white. When I put my Hella 1000FF HIDs on, the halogen bulbs look yellow.
