Default removing rear light cluster on my99

ok after removing the 5 nuts will the light assembly come away with the underlight trim or does this have to be removed first. Had a quick go after work last night and the light was getting too dark the light was stiff but i put this down to putty didn't want to lever it off though as i didn't want to break the trim under the light, until i was sure

sorry for the daft question

It helps to pour very hot water over it too, (although I'd beware of using boiling water), and then have someone push from the inside as you lever/pull from the outside.

The trim piece is screwed to the lights.

DON'T forget to reseal it all after..........I wouldn't personally rely on the sealant already present. Many people remove it and use silicone If it's hard to get it off now, imagine trying to break a silicone seal?

The correct stuff to use is non-setting mastic, available for around £3 from caravan dealers/repairers.
