Default rear lights always on....

Stop / tail lights that is, all the rest (reverse/indicator/fog) are fine.

No idea why...they're just on permanently now and I have to disconnect them when i leave the car so as not to rain the battery...With the ignition on, they get brighter with the brake pedal pressed as they should..but stay on....

Does anyone have and wiring diagrams / pictures of what should be connected to what as it looks like a few wires have been 'amended' in the past.

Also, something I've never thought off before now is that the main lights turn off when you turn the ignition off....should they do this? Just thought it was an impreza thing...

Any help would be great as im getting tired of unplugging the damn things!

Are your front side lights staying on aswell??? if they are, it's the parking light switch on top of the steering column....

If it's not that, i apolagise for pointing out something very simple....
