Can't see anything on here relating to a problem I've recently had, although I'm new, so it may have been discussed before.53sti battery going flat over a period of time...tested charging rate ok...tested battery ok...decided to check the discharge and found that it was quite high .13 amps! normal acceptable reading should be .02-.03. After checking the usual' boot light etc. I rang Subaru tech. and they told me they knew of a problem with the tracker on some cars. I contacted the local dealers and found that they had had several complaints but didn't know the cure,in fact they had fitted 3 battery's to one car!It turns out I had a six hour tracker fitted and I should have had a one hour unit. Apparently the original was staying awake for six hours and running the battery down. Way to check is;Battery earth off..Multimeter on amps--10 amp scale, connect between earth post and lead and take a reading...normal should be .02-.03 any more is too much....sorry if this is old news...!
