OK, first things first: strictly speaking you don't need the switch, and if you WANT a switch, you can use the one that controls the foglights

You DO need a relay, partly because the OE dip switch can't take the extra current, but mainly because you HAVE to wire them, by law, so that when you select dip beam, they go off.

The correct relay to use is an on/off 4, or 5 terminal one, I prefer the oners with a fuse built in, but if you can't get one like that, buy one without, and an inline fuseholder. Try and get the fuseholder to be one that takes blade type fuses, don't get one like the ones that used to be used for ICE instrallation. Relays, and fuseholders can be had from Halfords, or most decent car shops.

If you want wiring instructions, with or without using the foglight switch, on a classic, PM me.

All our lamp kits either have a relay as part of the loom (early PIAA kit) or use the original fog lamp relay and wiring
