HID - anyone used / seen these...

Dont look too expensive, but then i dont really know much about HID or them.

Not used them, I've got kits from the Autolamps on-line group buy from a couple of years ago, they're here
The ballasts look the same as the ones from Autolamps. The bulbs look similar.
Concerns I have are over the claim that the 8000k output is brighter than other HID's. As I understand it light output is in lumens and the k number is just an indication of the colour of the light. So a 8000k light isn't brighter than a 4100k light, it's just a differnet colour. When I ordered mine Autolamps had a choice of 4100k or 6000k and they said 4100k gave more lumens but 6000k were bluer. If you want most light go for 4100k, if you want blue looking BMW-like headlights then go for 6000k. Looks like Euro-HID are even bluer than this. Whether or not it's more light I couldn't say. But they are clearly saying 8000k is more light, which is wrong. Either they don't understand their product or they are deliberately trying to mislead.
The other concern is over the dual beam H4. If you have a classic shape Imprezza then this is the one you would have. It doesn't say or show how the dip and main beam are done in a single bulb. Some products have an HID dip and a conventional main beam bulb in the same housing, due to the compromise positiion of both neither work well. Other products have a single HID and tilt it physically to move it from the focus for dip to that for main, again a compromise. Third option is to move the HID arc electrically (magnetically?) within the glass envelope, again a compromise. If you have a car with separate bulbs for dip and main, ie morrettes on a classic, standard bug eye WRX, bug eye STi or blobeyes then not a problem.
Didn't look at prices. If they are cheaper than Autolamps then give them a go. If not then I'd go for Autolamps. I'm one very satisfied customer.

Yeah ive got a classic so its 1 bulb, didnt really think about the main beam/dipped problem, thanks for that. Ahh i now understand the colour/brightness thing thanks
