Default Remote Central Locking

Does anyone know if it's possible to fit remote central locking to a classic Impreza Turbo fittied with ordinary central locking?

it is posible, but the drivers door only has a switch in it, so you need to fit a motor/actuator to lock the drivers door which will in turn send the signal to lock/unlock the other doors. can be hard for the competant d.i.y er, but easy for a decent car alarm fitting shop, as experience in setting up and placing the motor is a must on a scoob

So all I need to do is get a decent car alarm with remote and that will lock doors and alarm car at the same time. Is that right?

Geoff

I've done this and it's not too difficult. You need to fit a new central locking motor in the drivers door and use the alarm to control this. Aligning the motor is a bit fiddly, but can be done without prior experience as long as you have some patience.
