A blind driver broke last night my right
PIAA driving light. (white cover + glass).
Is this possible to buy only them as parts or I have to buy the whole kit again?
Can I find them in Greece?

Im sorry to hear about your light. I had a close call with mine recently, if I hadnt covers on them both would be broken. Try PIAA

Mine went and Subaru replaced the whole unit, to their cost!

They paid because it was done before I bouth the car. But they said the whole unit needs to be replaced. Try Central Subaru Breakers Willenhall, west midlands on 01902 636286.

Good luck!

Beastie, Plantie,

I'm in the process of fitting some PIAA lamps.
When you have a moment do you think you could have a look at your wiring and tell me
where your relays are mounted on your car
(the PIAA relays), and which wire the PIAA
activation lead splices into. I assume it
will be one of the 3 leads going into the
near side headlight unit - really want to
know which is the main beam wire.

Cheers

Rich,

Would really appreciate that mate.
Bought the lights second hand and have
had a good look at fitting them but the
loom to the battery terminals are not that
long so the I assume the relays must mount
somewhere close to the battery but I'm
having a bit of trouble identifying a site
for them!!.
Also if you could tell the colour code of the
wire that the activation lead splices into
then it will save me cutting the insulation
on each wire until i find the main beam one.

Cheers

Mine was cracked once.
I purchased a replacement unit from Graham Goode racing, and a mate who's a car mechanic stuck it on for free.
cost about £50

Im sorry not to have answered sooner but my car isnt with me just now. However I can tell you that my relay is mounted on the inner wheelarch bulkhead below the battery.

It was originally mounted at the bottom of the radiator but when the car came back from having a new clutch fitted it had moved.

I wont be home until 13th September so cant really give you any more detail than that.

This is how mine are fitted (not by me, by previous Jap owner). The big white relay is powering the headlights and the black one is for the spots. The main beam wire is the left hand wire when viewed from above going into the lights. I took a wire from the main beam wire (all my PIAA wires are either black or white!) to activate the black relay when main beam comes on.

Rich,

Thanks for posting the pic and info.

Unfortunatley my relays look different to
yours - I have two black relays with a 'U'
shaped bracket that both fit into. Both
relays are about 1"x1"x3", the white PIAA
harness going into either end.
The 'activation wire' is white with red rings
but I was wanting to know the colour coding
on the Subara harness to the headlight, ie
the main beam cable (one of the 3 wires to
the headlight).

Not to worry - will try and sort it out this
weekend.

Thanks alot

Chris.

Hi PANOS DIM

I broke 1 of my PIAA lamps 4 months ago. I was in the same dilemma. I thought I might have to buy a whole kit again.

But when I phoned PIAA, they told me it would £65 to replace the lens. So I order 1, came next day. I can dig out a number and contact if this helps.

Cheers

Chris
