Lokking to fit a decent set of driving lights instead of the pathetic ones currently fitted to the Scooby. Any opinions on the relative merits of the Scoobysport Cibie replacements vs the expensive PIAA lights, or do they both melt the hedgerows ?

Do a search, there are loads of discussions on this subject.

In summary:

CIBIES - cost around the £180 mark, availability variable, and doggy H2 lamp fittings resulting in blown bulbs (may have been fixed now?).

PIAA - apparently the dogs bits, cost £400 fitted at a subaru dealer and approx £250 if you want to fit them yourself.

HELLA COMET - a cheaper alternative - can pick up a set for about £50 plus brackets/wiring. Had mine for 8 months - deliver the goods, look fine and no bulb problems. A single unit costs less to replace than a PIAA lens...something to think about when considering stone chips.

There are other HELLA (500?) gas discharge lights which some have fitted - they are smaller than the original fogs but very powerfull.

Do a search to reveal much more......

Phil
