Dont cut corners and definitely obtain a cutter for the large hole you have to cur into the body behind the light. I p*** about with a small hole and a round file, doesnt look good and after messing about I bought a proper cutter, (about £8.00)It looks a lot better. Route the wiring carefully to ensure you dont have to strech the connection to the o/s lamp when fitting, ( I positioned the relay on the n/s inner wheel arch just behind the headlamp. You can wire the switch warning light so that it comes on when the lights are on, (e-mail me if you want to know how and Ill try to remember how I did it).

Do a search of all topics over the last 100 days or so. There are several threads on this subject including mine re mounting the front bumper more securely to reduce vibration.

With a bit of thought you can put the relay in side the fuse box (with all the other relays). I did this with my Cibies and you wouid never know they were there.
It also makes it easy to connect the relay directly to the battery for a good earth and power supply.

Hope this helps

Cheers for all the advice, they are in and work.
Now the fun starts to align them.

Agree with the hole, no probs with a hole saw.
I wired them up so I can switch on/off using original fog light switch.

If you wired them through main beam, with the original fog lamp switch just as an additional on/off switch, ok. If you wired them direct so the only means of turning them on/off is via the fog lamp switch, this is an offence under the Construction and Use Regulations, not to mention the fact that if you cause an accident by dazzling someone you will get nailed to the mast.....

John,

Which terminals did you use on the fog lamp switch? Did you retain illumination? If so, could you send me a wiring diagram?

Cheers,

Nick.

Chiark I followed the "Idiots Guide to fitting PIAA driving lights to Subaru Impreza, they are on the web but I cannot remember the site address (it has a thanks to YOU (Chiark)at the end). The only info is a mailing address mailto:g.p.foster@btinternet.com

Yes I did retain the illumination
If you cannot find the page, I saved the lot and I will email it to you.

Dave TS yes they only come on when fog switch is on AND main beam on

I downloaded both sets of instructions.
The i club ones seemed OTT when you consider they remove headlights, sidelights and bumper
