P1 driving lights on MY00

I'm in the happy position of being able to buy a set of second hand P1 driving lights, and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to mount 'em. The P1 mounting has been retained by their original owner - he's upgraded to the gas discharge lights, which are stunning.
I take it the standard P1 spots are an improvement worth having?

Just had a phonecall from my local garage (for local people; they'll have no trouble there)
58.29 each, plus vat. Also need P1 chassis number.
I think I'll make do and invest in another solution
