The car will have it's first MOT in the next week. It's one of the cars afflicted by a healthy consumation of bulbs and as per usual the bulbs are blown .
As per front fogs (if fitted they have to work), do they need to work to pass the MOT?

Miles,
I don't think so. If your car fails on only the lights, then come around past my house, and I'll lend you mine for the re-test. Shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to swap them over, and then back again afterwards.
I haven't had any problems with blown bulbs, but a few with dodgy connectors, where the wires have corroded etc. Replaced the connectors myself and all seems well, with no black outs for past 6 months or so.

If you're worried stick a couple of 55W bulbs in, they do the job for MOT. Most of my Cibie bulb failures have been put down to poor heat dissipation by the lamps with 130W fitted. The bulbs cook themselves and then fail when I hit a bump due to the filament being weakened/softened.

John, thanks for the offer, I've got some spare bulbs (5 in fact) but I can't get the blinking lenses off , will have a go with penetrating oil tonight.
