UV driving lights
#1
Ages ago I saw an articial on TV about fitting UV bulbs to driving lights. You would have the lights switched on thew whole time for night driving. The UV would make anything whight 'glow' but not dazzel other road users. So it could pick out objects at a greater range, espicially when your normal lights were dipped.
Also added advantage of allowing you to get a good tan
Has anyone heard of this or seen anything like it???
cheers

Great idea !!
However, there are all sorts of problems associated with looking into UV lamps (like what every driver would have to do).
However, main lights and driving lights all with UV bulbs and no normal lights could be fun. Stealth Scooby
Mind you, that would mean you would need white lines etc. to reflect off otherwise you still wouldn't be able to see where you are going.
Mmmmm, does anybody do a 100 watt UV bulb in H4 fittement ?
Cheers

UV bulbs could only be used with metal reflectors.
UV light breaks down most known plastics.
I think the idea is great. I was wondering if some bulb manufacturers allow more UV to achieve extra whiteness. Osram Powerwhites have a coating which shields out UV, to protect plastic lenses, are PIAA Superwhites similarly coated?
Can you imagine having someone follow you to Catalunya, with UV lights fitted, and arriving with a letterbox suntan on your face?

Good point SUNlip - I have to pay good money on holiday to look like you (of course if it was to look exactly like you it would have to be thousands in reverse plastic surgery to do away with my natural incredible good looks and replace them with your terminal ugliness)
