Unhappy

I have taken out the rear light clusters and they are 'bonded' on with sealant but it is flexible.
Now with the bad weather, water is leaking through the light cluster into my boot.
Can not find any of this flexible non permament sealant anywhere.
Can anyone help??

Karlo use bath sealant. It stops the water getting in and is more flexible than normal silicon sealant. Should be available at most hardware shops.

Karlo,

As Matt says, use sealant from one of the DIY stores.

The flexible sealant I used was £3.50 from B&Q and is listed as "Frame Sealant" for Windows. You can get white or clear flavours.
The one I got had a built-in dispenser so no gun required.

No leaks since, so far !

IHTH

Thanks

Gavin

Silicone bathroom stuff is the best idea, but I would suggest coating one, (or both) side(s) to be stuck with a thin film of olive oil. This enables it to be pulled off leaving no residue, but still allows the silcone to fully bridge any gaps. We use this technique on the farm to repair dodgy seals on machinery - it works well.

Is regular olive oil ok or does it have to be extra virgin (mind you must be difficult finding a regular virgin in your neck of the woods never mind the extra type)!!

Any virgin will do, rubbed on one or both sides!
