Could anyone tell me if the bulbs on the side lights on the scooby can be replaced by those plasma blue type bulbs ?
I need to replace one & was wondering if this is possible - if so which bulb is best - I notice Halfords sell them but will they be OK in the side lights (ie too hot ??)
My car is an STi4

Cheers

Jules.

Side lamp bulbs are capless 5w - which doesn't change for any of the variants (why - thinking of putting 120w side lamp bulbs in??!!) so heat not an issue.

PIAA do several variants one of which (H-92)is a plasma one.

Cool

Jules

I run the PIAA Superwhite sidelights (I think they were about £8 a pair) - really for the look of them to match the PIAA Superwhite headlamps. I think they are rated at 5w, but they produce a beam equivalent to 10w. As Dave has said, the bulb wattage is so low that overheating won't be an issue.

Cheers

Off the thread slightly, but to improve the pathetic dipped beam headlights on the standard uk car, what should I do ? Is there a very easy bulb replacement ?

The PIAA Superwhites are great, but a little expensive at £55 a pair. Halfords do some high performance Xenon bulbs which are about a tenner each - almost as good, but they don't have quite the same range as the PIAAs

Dave, you'll probably find that Sunil needs the High Power Superlight Neons so he can find his tool during his nocturnal activities.
And a tweezers

Back OT....

I've got the Halford Xenon main beam with PIAA superwite side lights.

First, I think the Xenon are very good value for money. I was thinking of upgrading to PIAA, but I just did not think there was enough difference to justify the expense.

When had the fitted it did make a big difference to the standard candles. However, the side lights did look dull be comparison, so I bought the PIAA side lights to even up the look. These are whiter and really look good with the Xenon's. Cost me about £15 for the Xenon and £10 for the PIAA side lights.

No doubt others here will give you different oppinions...

Sunil.
I was going forward, though I would not be surprised if you were a rear gunner .
You can also position the 85 quid kid in front of the lights. If she's blinded she won't see yer ugly mug

Chris, yeah got the BC2s.

Very good Bajie, how can you dent your rear box by going forwards then?......is it stuck onto the front of your car?, no wonder your mechanicals keep failing.

I suppose i'm stupid if i use my lights to blind her vision, Bajie - i know your smart as ive heard you just turn the lights out so she cant see your ugly mug either!!!

Whats going on here? Scoobynet Tag Team against Sunil!

Anyway, I think I will be getting the Xenon from Halfords. Had them on the Cav, they were alot better than the standard fit.

Are bulbs without the "E" mark illegal for road use?

Thumbs down

Mungo - Correct

If it ain't 'E', you cannot legally use it on a road car - they are sold for off road / rallying use only.
