Cool

It's not going to be long before the only time I drive my car is in the dark. Has anyone fitted Hella spots instead of the standard fogs? £200+ for the conversions looks like a lot of cash compared to £60 for Hellas including bulbs + wiring and gives me some more cash towards a new exhaust:d

Any ideas / comments are welcomed.

As a cheaper alternative, they work okay. But you will only be able to use the 55w bulbs, unless you want to replace bigger ones all the time.
You will also need the mounting brackets from GGR or make up your own. They fit the same way as the PIAAs do.

Richard, i've got Hella comet 500's on my 93 WRX. They are, as you say pretty cheap for the full kit, and probably not quite as good as PIAA's or Cibies. I have rewired mine with heavier wire as originally they used the standard wiring. This is ok but its a pain in the ar$e turning them on and off by the fog light switch!
Now I have the heavy wiring I have changed the 55w bulbs for 100w and there is no problem at all. This, of course, makes the visibility MUCH better.

The big problem , well not really, is making a bracket to mount them. I made mine out of 25x190x3mm aluminium. The ends need a slot cut to take the mounting bolts as per the standard. To get them shining in the right place needs a selection of washers and patience. Hope this helps!!
