Default Rewire map lights on MY00?

Anybody wired the MY00 Classic Map lights to come on when the doors are opened?

I'd like them to come on when the door is opened but still operate when the doors are closed, via the existing switch.

I'd also like them all to have a delay after shutting the door. Oh, and the moon on a stick, too. :P

Any system which puts a delay on the lights going off will cause a problem if you've got the standard alarm - it thinks you've left a door open and beeps at you.

How do I know?? Cause I spent ages building an interior light timer delay circuit, adapted so it was over-ridden by the ignition being switched on, only to find this problem after I'd fitted it..... Promptly removed it again - grrrr.

Mine has a delay and the alarm works fine.
Think it's connected or part of the alarm though

thats an easy problem to get round just fit a dioide before the timer relay and that will stop the alarm thinking that the door is still open easy when you know how
