Question Morettes for a 99

I'm toying with the idea of putting morettes on my 99 to enhance the light performance. Reading old posts etc there seems to be a bit of differing opinions. Some say they are crap both in performance and quality and some rave about them. For £300 odd quid I don't want to be in the crap bracket. Comments please (ps I don't give a monkeys what they make the car look like as long as I can see better)

Default Morette pro's and cons

OK, 3 points:

1. OE Scoob headlights are CRAP.........bad design, so better bulbs have minimal effect.

2. Morettes for a scoob use Cibie light units. Cibie know a thing or two about lights. The outers are round, use an H4 bulb for main and dip, and put light where you want it, They DO work well with better bulbs

3. Morettes have an extra pair of main beam lights, the inner pair, which effectively doubles the light on the road from main beam. They DON'T take to uprated bulbs though.

Problems? Not easy to set up, but once done, done for good. Some folk find the wiring hard to understand. If that's you, post and I'll help. They aren't the cheapest around, and cost about another £80 to get colour coded, but I wouldn't swop mine back!!!!!

Thanks Alcazar you can always be relied on for an answer in this forum. I had thought though that your car was a 98. I know there may not be much in it but the OE lights for the 99 are supposed to be better, unless of course you or somebody else knows different.

Yeah, mine's a '98, but as far as lights go, there's practically nowt in it.....both have VERY poor headlights. The 99 ones LOOK better though:
