I've got Xenon bulbs on my MY02 WRX (Morettes) but they are not 'true' xenons such as are fitted to audis, mercs, etc. Can i get proper xenons / gas discharge headlights for the morettes?

Yes. Scoobysport do 'em, as do this lot, as do the likes of PIAA and Hella.

Question

Has anyone fitted Xenon H1/H7's to morette's (on a MY02 WRX)?

Any advice - in particular do you need to fit a relay or will the fuse(s) hold OK??

The so called 'xenon' BULBS (i.e. NOT gas discharge) that are fitted to the morettes are useless. I can't advise more against this option - the light output is so poor that even at speeds of around 90mph in darkness on the motorway you will have to slow down or use full beam / driving lights. I've had the halogen prodrive driving lights 1000FF fitted and they're good but basically the same as using your full beam so i feel a bit ripped off. I'm thinking now of getting the proper xenon gas discharge lights fitted to my morettes by scoobysport...

Thumbs up

Phillips make a bulb at 4000F - I have these fitted to my standard headlamps and to say the lighting is a fantastic improvement is a huge understatement.

Xenon is simply a large molecular inert gas which does nothing for the performance of the lamps except helps life. Its simply MARKETING!!!!.

What the word Xenon is eluding to is HID technology (High Intensity Discharge)
