Anyone know what bulb goes in the MY02 Morette side lights is it 5W5 as per the standard units ?
Its just damn awkward to get out and I only want to do it once.
TIA.

I've got two sets now of the blue vision W5W bulbs that powerbulbs give away for free. Don't know if they are the right ones for my MY01 morettes but I'm going to try fitting them this weekend when I fit my new main beams...
Can't really work out how to do it so if you've got any tips I'd be glad to hear them...

To answer your question the 5w5 ones will fit as I put the free ones from Powerbulbs in mine. The bulb holder rotates then pulls out to expose the bulb, you then pull the old bulb out, push the new one in then pop it back into the lamp.
Hope that helps.

Gareth, do the Morrettes take the H4 headlight bulb?
I too have the blue sidelight bulbs which I want to fit but after a quick look I couldn't see how they would come out. Will have another go if it ever stops raining.

Right then - how the hell do you get at the bl00dy side light bulbs on these damn things.
I just go my nice new H7 VP's with free 5W5's, I fitted the H7s @work and have to say they're a lot better.
So last night I though lets pop the side light bulbs out and swap 'em for the philips.
I CANT GET MY DAMN FINGERS IN AROUND THE BACK OF THE BULB !!!!
What give here - its like the only way to do it is to remove the headlamp unit from the car !!!!!
HELP

My thoughts exactly. I thought I'd have half a chance on the passenger side but there's absolutely no way you can get near it on the driver's side.
Given that the side lights are purely a cosmetic change I gave up on it pretty quickly. Next thing'll be those blue bulbs in the windscreen washers if we're not careful...

Only easy way to do it is remove the lamp units, bout 15 mins, I can let you know how to do this as well if needed.
The new bulbs are not just a cosmetic part, they are actual brighter and produce a much whiter beam compared to the original amber looking glow (just stick it in the repeaters tosee that).

DAz,
This was the conclusion I came to - lights out for a bulb change !!!!!
I cant be ar$ed at the moment as it took 2 goes by the dealer to fit them correctly in the first place - so I'm going to wait till the spring when I dont need the lights !
Unless you can convince me otherwise - how easy is it ?

Firstly this is an easy job, if I can do it anyone can!
The job just involves removing the grille, to do this lift the bonnet, there are four clips at the top of the grille you just push the clips down to release, at the bottom corners of the grill there is another clip, using a long flat blade screwdriver push the clip down and the grille can then be pulled out.(you may be able to get the bulb out now)
This exposes the two 10mm bolts holding the unit in place, there is another 8mm bolt on the wing holding the unit in. remove all bolts and the unit lifts up slightly and can be eased forward, replace bulbs and repeat backwards.
To ensure allignment stays as near to what they were, take note of how many turns each bolt takes to come out and apply this when re fitting.
Thats it, if you dont fancy that leave it till spring.

Yesterday, one of the mechanics at my local dealership showed me how to get the Morettes out, to change bulbs. Dead easy as Daz says. The mechanic did however point out that when you replace the bolts, make sure they cover the clean area that the washer left previously, or the units won't be aligned properly.
It certainly beats all the fiddling around to change bulbs when the Morettes are in place!
Cheers
