Now the dark nights are upon us its become more and more obvious something aint quite right with my chariots lights. Std UK300 Prodrives fitted and to get a decent amount of light out from them the adjuster has to be set reasonably high resulting in every man and his dog flashing at me like a **** also when main beam kicks in the only thing thats illuminated is the tree tops... is there something wrong? - i guess there is...how much adjustment is there in the Prodrives or have i got a problem?
Presuming I can get this sorted what upgrades can i do regarding the bulbs??

I have just replaced the bulbs on my car with Phillips Vision plus, 2 sets of H7 bulbs. This has improved the output, for a reasonable outlay, although the ultimate option would be to uprade to HID units, but these are £400+. I haven't had any problems with the alignment though. Running with the adjuster set on '0'. I would suggest that you get the alignment checked at a dealers to see if it is out.

Dave, The lights on my UK300 were also set to high, (was like bird spotting). Have adjusted but still need to go lower. Like Mark I have also fitted Philips Vision plus H7's (2 sets req) and blue vision sidelights. For near on 70 quid it has improved the light output but not upto the quality of HID. Have also considered replacing fogs with driving lamps.

Vision Plus' in my Prodrive headlamps too.Big improvement over standard and the cheapest place for em is http://www.powerbulbs.com Mine didn't cost as much as £70 and I bought 4x H7's and a pair of side light bulbs (If you don't get the side light bulbs the std ones look rather 'yellowy' when you have em on with the Vision Plus!)

Yes, When I ordered mine these cars weren't listed on their database. I did inform Powerbulbs so that the could amend their records. Philips Vision Plus H7 for UK300 lights.

Well Guys looks like a couple of sets of H7s will have to be ordered then to put a back on my face - don't think the wifey would bend to a set of HIDs yet

Thanks for the tip on the Vision Plus bulbs, lads! I found a test that showed them as making the most improvement in usable light, while the PIAAs actually made 10% LESS usable light. Go figure.

I put a set of H7 Vision Pluses in my Prodrives, and they did indeed make quite the difference. I don't have to run the fogs for that front fill anymore.

Powerbulbs were excellent. I ordered on Wednesday, and had 'em on Monday to the United States. That free shipping is the nuts. Hey, what's up with the little bulbs that they include for free? Are those for the side markers, or for the city light position?

are both dip and main beam in uk300 lights both H7?

this is because I haven't got my lights yet and have the chance of some alternative main beam bulbs if I can find out what they are...

All four bulbs in the Prodrive headlamps are H7's.Make sure you get the sidelight bulbs too (T4W are the correct sidelight bulbs as the 'free' W5W aren't right for the Prodrive headlamps,they are ok for std bugeyes though)otherwise they'll look rather 'yellowy' against the uprated bulbs......

Easiest is to unbolt the lights from their mountings and fit em that way rather than strugglin with em in-situ!!

Nearside went in ok, offside was a bu99er, managed to puncture the rubber cover with the screwdriver I was encouraging it with :-)

Guys....eventually fitted them after much swearing and knuckle scraping!! Once I'd done one the other side was a lot easier.Initial reactions are that they are alot whiter than before and definately seem brighter Main beams need adjusting down though as the only thing they light up at the moment is the treetops!! Are they easy enough to adjust with the long bolts on the back or does it require the brains of a rocket scientist to set the buggers up!

I've got the vision plus in my driving lights only and they do make a difference. Call me an old traditionalist but I always find wiping the lenses every other day with a wet cloth helps!!

I'd agree with that. Getting them set up properly is an enormous help too. It's surprising what a difference a small adjustment can make, and how many people ride around with lights pointing into the trees, or onto the floor!
